Generally, the Massimadi Foundation organizes two annual festivals: Massimadi en Rue, which usually takes place in September at Daisy Sweeney Peterson Park, and the LGBTQ+ Afro Film and Arts Festival, which traditionally occurs in February during Black History Month.

Responding to our audience's requests and recognizing the cultural significance and distinct role of the Massimadi Festival in the Montreal landscape, we have decided to consolidate our efforts into a single, larger, and more splendid festival. Therefore, this year, we will celebrate the 15th anniversary of the festival with a unique and innovative program, merging our two annual festivals into a single grand event from September 11 to 30, 2023. The theme of this fifteenth edition will be 'Celebrations'.
