The Massimadi Festival returns to celebrate Afrodescendant LGBTQ+ cultures and experiences through film, art, and conversation.

For its 17ᵗʰ edition, the festival invites you to challenge inherited stories and reinvent them collectively under the theme “Deconstruct to Reconstruct.”

This theme highlights how art can dismantle imposed images of ourselves, our identities, and our communities—so that we can rebuild them on our own terms.

Nearly thirty short and feature films from Quebec and around the world will be presented both online and in theatres from October 22 to 29.

The program will also extend beyond the screen, with an exhibition that opens new spaces for dialogue and creation.
