Screenwriting mentorship program

Momentum is a initiative of the Massimadi Foundation, designed to offer an annual support program dedicated to the scriptwriting of audiovisual projects. This program is aimed at screenwriters who identify as Afro-American and are part of the LGBTQ+ community. The program allows them to develop and share their stories.

Objectives and impacts of the program

The project aims to support and equip young Afro-queer talents in their artistic journey in order to:

Amplify their voices

And provide visibility to often marginalized stories.

Raising public awareness

By sharing authentic and diverse stories.

Combat discrimination

Towards LGBTQ+ communities, particularly those from Afro communities, through the power of audiovisual storytelling.

Promoting access to the film industry

By giving them the tools they need to transform their ideas into concrete projects.

Overview of the 2023–2024 Edition

6 Afro LGBTQ+ artists selected to develop their first audiovisual script.
6 months of personalized support combining individual mentoring and group workshops.
Public reading of current projects
A group outing to the Regard Festival.
