Specializing in rug tufting and fiber wall art, Solèy Studio explores the intersections of identity, memory, and belonging, placing Haitian culture at the heart of its approach. Created by Aude, a second-generation immigrant, Haitian cultural artist, and textile storyteller based in Tiohtià:ke, her practice becomes a way to reconnect with a land they have never visited, but inhabit through family stories and teachings.
Her works are gestures of care that blend gentleness and strength, modernity and history, fragility and resistance. Through texture and pattern, Aude pays homage to the richness of Haitian culture while questioning norms related to gender, sexuality, and race.
Each piece becomes both surface and narrative: a contemporary diasporic archive, woven with pride, intergenerational survival, and beauty.
