SCREENINGS - QUEER RESISTANCE TO COLONIZATION

screenings 28 octobre.png

Colonial systems sought to erase identities, traditions, and ways of loving, yet queer culture persists as a force of resistance and reclamation. These films blend art, politics, Afro-descendant identity, and activism into narratives of survival, rage, and rebellious joy.

The screening evening will kick off with three unique short films that celebrate queer art, community, and dignity in the face of colonial oppression.

  • Randa

  • Earth to KB

  • Marungka Tjalatjunu (Dipped in Black)

These films will be followed by the documentary Out of Uganda.

A powerful feature film that follows the journey of LGBTQ+ activists forced into exile in the face of rising anti-gay laws in East Africa.

A Q&A with Solange Musanganya and Ahmed Hamila will take place afterwards.

DOORS OPEN AT 6:00 PM
